This project is working along side the Mongolian government to facilitate participatory, community forestry practices which are ecologically sustainable. Currently the government is working on new laws which will open up a regulatory environment where herders and people from small villages can have an active part in managing the resources in their communities.
In addition, a worker from the project has developed curriculum for grade school which teaches environmental awareness and protection. Teachers from two rural schools have been instrumental in piloting the material in their classrooms.
