In the last Horizons we highlighted “Transitions and Changes” as Mongolians elected a new government. Living with transitions and changes is full of uncertainty and often stressful. The world and everything around us pressures us to plan, to move, and to act!
More often than not, the pressure and our drive to succeed push us to have better control in our planning, application, and outcomes.
For a pencil to write, it must be held in someone’s hand. Are we willing to put ourselves in God’s hand as we write our plans? Are we also willing to let God hold the eraser? It is not how much we write, but the content of what we write; it is also about being willing to be corrected.
In order to do this, we must intentionally “stop and listen” to His prompting and guidance. We must stop the busyness of “doing the work;” rather we must be still and know that He is God. Life is not about hurrying and rushing from one thing to another, it is about being in the presence of God. As the saying goes, God did not create us to be human doings but human beings.
As you read this issue of Horizons, you will be made aware of the demands of project and placement work placed on our personnel. I ask that you will pray and remember us, that we may live and be in His presence in all that we do. Pray that all of us here in JCS will spend unhurried time with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. May our relationships with one another in the JCS community be rooted in His oneness and His love, for true community is a reflection of the Trinity.
